Order photographs from your scanned film:
Have us digitize your slides, and we will provide you with a username and password that you, your friends, and your family
can use to order traditional "Silver Based Photographs". Browse the photos from our site, select the prints and sizes you want, and
have them mailed to your home address.
Have an 8x10 picture of your grandfather as a child mailed
and ready for his birthday!
| Print Size | Price* | Additional Information |
| 5x7 | $2.99 each | Silver based photographs are not ink-jet prints, they are true chemical photographs. The quality of the end product will depend at least partly on how well preserved the film is. The costs provided include color correction, scratch removal, and other pre-processing work to ensure the highest quality print we can provide. |
| 8x10 | $11.99 each |
| 8x12 | $12.99 each |
| 11x14 | $17.99 each |
| 12x18 | $21.99 each |
8x10 Ink-Jet (non-silver) | $1.99 each | Ink Jet prints will be of a lower quality and on thinner stock. They are not "true" photographs. However, for framing purposes, from a distance of 2-3 foot most people will not see a difference in quality. |
* Most orders can be shipped by US Mail for $2.50. Add an additional $2.50 for Priority Mail, and $17.50 for Express Mail.
Have a permanent website for your family film:
For a $150 annual fee, Gregory Media will create a permanent website for your scanned photography,
complete with your own domain name (www.yourname.com), and a comments area where your
friends and family can provide their memories about each picture. This is a wonderful tool for anyone interested in documenting their
family history and ensuring that the memories and knowledge of the older generations are not lost to future generations.
Once a year, Gregory Media will generate a PDF e-book, suitable for printing on any computer printer, that
contains each picture along with the names and comments of everyone who provided their memories! Have your own family
book for future generations.
For large orders (typically 30 or more books), we can even generate hardback books from your PDF e-book. Generate an
heirloom that will be kept in the family forever.
Why convert to digital?
Until DVD/CD all film storage formats have had a
relatively short shelf life. Super 8 and 35mm film will
eventually deteriorate, become unviewable,
and be lost forever. Converting to DVD/CD also allows for viewing of the
film/slide without special hardware (reel-to-reel, slide projectors) that
are becoming increasingly hard to find. Our DVDs are playable by most modern
DVD players for viewing right on your television set.
Having all your eggs in one basket...
Once your film has been converted to a digital format and saved on DVD/CD, it
can be copied countless times without any loss of quality. Every time you play that
old Super-8 reel-to-reel, you are risking losing it forever if it gets burnt or stripped by your
projector. Have a box of slides in your basement or attic? You are playing roullette that
a tornado, flood, or fire doesn't take them away forever. Put them on DVD, however, and you
can put a copy in a safety deposit box, or just give multiple copies out to family members.
Many people own slides or films that are 40/50/60+ years old. Film of this type has
great historical significance (family or otherwise) and deserves to be preserved.
What do I need to do?
Please have film clearly labeled and organized, so that we can keep
your movies running in chronological order. If you want your slides
in a specific order, you will need to sort them ahead of time and clearly
label the spools/containers.
How do I contact you?
Send us an email.
Disclaimer
Old film is often just that... old and brittle. Gregory Media staff will make every effort
and precaution to protect your film, but take no responsibility for damage that may
occur to the film as a part of the scanning or video extraction process. Everytime you watch
that Super-8 tape or view your slides you are taking a risk. That same risk exists when
we digitize the film. By sending your film to Gregory Media you are agreeing to hold
us harmless regarding any damage that may occur during shipping or while at our labs. Gregory Media
will only accept and mail film using fully insured mailing properly labeled for film.
